Porsche models G96/00, GT2, GT3, BOXSTER 686/20 6 speed gearboxes will occasionally experience a '2nd gear pop out issue.' If the problem just started and there is no gear damage, this upgrade is proven and popular! This Detent is also by far the least expensive option. Installation is relatively simple and can be completed with the gearbox still installed in your Porsche.
This upgraded detent will not fix a pop out problem if there is already internal damage to the gearbox, but it may certainly help prevent it. We install it in all of our rebuilds, and we have yet to see a 'pop-out' problem return after the installation of this part.

I used this rebuild kit on a G4NH 2.0L while freshening up an engine out of a 2019 Elantra, and overall it went together without any major issues. Everything in the kit matched up to the factory parts and tolerances looked good. Bearings, gaskets, and seals all fit the way they should.
The parts were packaged well and nothing showed up damaged or questionable. Clearances checked out during assembly and the engine turned over smooth by hand before startup. After getting it back in the car and running, oil pressure came right up and it’s been quiet so far with no leaks.
Obviously it’s not OEM pricing, but for a full rebuild on a budget this kit makes sense. Plus, many of the parts are better quality if not the same as from dealer. If you’re doing the work yourself and double-check measurements like you should, it’s a solid option and saved a lot over dealer parts.
