Clutch pedal snapped or loose, clutch pedal not working.
Right hand drive Chevrolet Sparks built between July 1st 2009- October 17th 2012 suffer from this black ABS plastic part snapping on the clutch pedal. The material is simply not suitable for the application. Chevrolet introduced a thin metal bracket to reinforce this plastic but it is still failing on vehicles.
The repair part is CNC machined from billet aluminium, which is far stronger than the plastic part installed by Chevrolet. A direct replacement for the original part to save the cost of replacing the whole pedal box mechanism, which would only fail again in time.
Fitment:
For Chevrolet Sparks manufactured between 2009-2012 that use a clutch cable system, NOT hydraulic clutch.

1 x Anodised aluminium improved design part for clutch pedal
Fitting kit comprising of Nyloc nuts, penny washers, standard washers, bolts and cable retaining pin.

I used this rebuild kit on a G4NH 2.0L while freshening up an engine out of a 2019 Elantra, and overall it went together without any major issues. Everything in the kit matched up to the factory parts and tolerances looked good. Bearings, gaskets, and seals all fit the way they should.
The parts were packaged well and nothing showed up damaged or questionable. Clearances checked out during assembly and the engine turned over smooth by hand before startup. After getting it back in the car and running, oil pressure came right up and it’s been quiet so far with no leaks.
Obviously it’s not OEM pricing, but for a full rebuild on a budget this kit makes sense. Plus, many of the parts are better quality if not the same as from dealer. If you’re doing the work yourself and double-check measurements like you should, it’s a solid option and saved a lot over dealer parts.
